General notes:
Imray digital charts are electronic versions of Imray standard charts, published in PC format with integrated GPS plotter software. This enables high resolution raster images of Imray charts to be used for simple navigation. Chart notes, warnings and tidal diamonds displayed as text boxes. Will interface with SeaTides tidal prediction software.
Setting Up:
This is very straightforward and once your laptop is linked to a GPS receiver your vessel is displayed in position on the chosen chart.
Waypoints are easily entered and can be stored in a database for use on overlapping Imray Digital charts.
Route creation is easy and details of courses and bearings are clearly displayed.
Alarms can be employed to alert the skipper at crucial points.
Corrections:
New editions containing accumulated corrections and new surveys of each CD are published at 2 yearly intervals and although superceeded, CDs will continue to function but are not supported by corrections; users are advised to replace their old CD. Corrections are available as download during the two year period and text details can be anchored on the electronic image in the correct position.
